Ocean Club was very nice. Rooms were clean and updated. Pools and grounds were nice. Service was good. We did rent with intent to have an ocean view room as stated in the property description, but had absolutely no view of the ocean - on first floor facing part of the pool instead. From chatting with people who referred to themselves as “owners”, the way it goes is that “owners” get the same rooms each time they go. “Renters” usually get put on the first floor. If we hadn’t stayed the previous week at a resort with a great ocean view, we would have been very disappointed.
We left a cell phone in the room when we checked out and realized it when we got to the airport and contacted the resort. Had to call back twice to even get someone to say it wasn’t found. Then after getting back to the US and calling 3 times, only to be put on hold for at least 6-7 minutes each time, we contacted the 800 Marriott number. They were helpful and said security at resort said no phone was found. They generated a case for us, and within a few hours we got an email from the resort security that the phone had been found, along with 5 or 6 forms to fill out and send back and a Fed Ex number to contact for charges to get it back. Quite a run around, but lesson learned!
