"The room was very well-prepared and the owner is kind and helpful, and seems like she has some interesting stories to tell. I was hoping the bar would be a gathering spot for all the guests, but I never saw it open (appears to be by reservation?) That we were encouraged to return by 9 PM was also a bit onerous (given it is 30 minutes from the city centre), but an understandable part of the guesthouse experience."

"A beautiful traditional inn/hotel, our room looked over the garden- very serene and lovely to take an evening walk in (all lit up) and likewise a morning walk (dressed in the provided yukatas). A little further out from some of the main Kyoto tourist spots but that's fitting for the location and Kyoto is very well connected with buses and the subway. Only wish we could have stayed longer!
