Okay Room

The room is as advertised, a one bedroom with a separate living room and pullout couch. However, the room is above a bar, and it is loud until 2a. Very loud. Also, the WiFi does not work. Last, the front desk is almost impossible to find without someone helping you.

Spring wedding

I booked a two night stay in early April for a wedding that was spread out over 3 days at various locations. I chose Wyndham for its location close to everything and the price. Check in was easy, parking is limited but very close to all rooms. Very nice foyer with treats, coffee, water, etc. The room was awesome, nice view of the water. Big bedroom with a comfy bed, plenty of closet space, full kitchen and seating area with two TV's. I would absolutely stay here again for multiple days. The only negative was that they were doing very noisy maintenance (power drills, hammers, etc.) inside the hotel at 8 am. I get that it's the offseason, but you have to give people a heads up and also not start until 10. Many people are sleeping late in Newport. Some things to note, not judging just noting....The harbor is pretty noisy with boat traffic and dock work, etc. There was a boat with a bullhorn on both mornings I was there. At night, there were groups of loud, drunk guys hanging out in the parking lot and at the bar below our room. You just have to be prepared to deal with the noise. I suggest a substantial sound machine and some ear plugs. Lastly, the bedroom is against the hallway and you can hear the elevator and doors shutting. Not a problem with the previously mentioned items. Overall, I'm really glad I stayed here and would absolutely stay here in the offseason again. I wouldn't be able to afford in the summer. I was pleasantly surprised with how comfortable the place was.

Clean and Comfortable

While the weather did not cooperate……fog, drizzle, not able to see the water, we were able to go to the mansions and see the lovely decorations both inside and out. Fortunately the rain held off for our outside walk. The condo/ hostel room was comfortable and had what we needed for a three night stay. We did not use the cooking facilities, but it appeared that the very basics were there.

Great stay

Loved our stay here with its waterfront view and all the amenities we needed. This was our base for visiting family during the holiday season. and we were very comfortable here. Great location on Thames with many places to walk to or within a short drive. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location with parking

In early Dec, we stayed in a unit facing the harbor. Accurately described & depicted in the listing. You cannot beat the location, especially in the Summer. You can park & walk to everything in the Thames Street area in 10-15 minutes. Great bars/restaurants are within a 5 minute walk. The unit's layout is odd, but fine for 2 people (or 4 - 2 adults + 2 kids) b/c you enter from the hall into the bedroom. If you have 4 people, the other 2 will be sleeping on the other side of the bedroom where the pull-out sofa bed is located. The bathroom is between the bedroom & the living space. Beautiful view of the harbor from this unit. It is directly above the bar, but this is the 5th floor. We had no noise. It was December; no one was outside the bar at night. The windows do not open more than an inch, so I doubt that noise would be an issue, even in the summer. There are some pipes running along the ceiling. They are for the room's sprinkler system, are unobtrusive & are no big deal. The kitchen was well equipped for 4 people. Everything we used worked. Parking is available, but tight. Instead of taking the ramp from Thames Street to park on the 2d level, suggest parking under the building b/c there is more room to maneuver in & out. No fitness center, but it has free usage of the YMCA in Middletown. It's a great YMCA - pool and plentiful equipment of many varieties. The staff were accommodating, but not locals & did not know where things were located.

Best mother daughter weekend getaway!

Fabulous location! Close to all the key points of interest, great views (including sunset!), and friendly staff. We used the lounge and full kitchen in the lounge one evening which was a great feature. Parking was also easy.

Great location in the wharf area.

Nice unit at the southern end of Newport's wharf area. Easy walk to many shops & restaurants. The building has its own parking. Beds were comfy, and there is a rooftop deck with a great view. We stayed for 3 nights and loved it. 10/10 would recommend it!
