The host was very friendly and accommodating. He communicated well before and throughout the stay making sure we had what we needed. The place is one half of a duplex. It is an older property but met our needs and we had a great time.

NOLA Rental

Good location. It is in an older, but conveniently located NOLA residential neighborhood. The house is a traditional double shotgun style, common in uptown NOLA. It is similar to the houses my wife and I grew up in. It was clean and well furnished. AC, etc all worked well. We had no problem parking all week right in front of the home. The owner lives in an apartment behind the rental and his sister lives on the other side of the double.

Great location

Very convenient uptown location near the park, universities, the streetcar line, and restaurants in the riverbend and Maple street areas. Classic New Orleans shotgun style house with high ceilings and pocket doors. Note that you will have to walk through bedrooms to reach the kitchen at the back of the house. Ideal for families. Comfortable and clean.

Beautiful home, great location, but HOT

The home is beautiful, in a great Uptown location. The owner was very good about correspondence, and I'm sure he will quickly fix the A/C problem. We were not able to get the home temperature below 80. I highly recommend this property as long as the A/C is working!

Dangerous property

There was a material gas leak on the property. There is an open air furnace in the bathroom that was leaking gas. There are no carbon monoxide alarms. The location is good, the interior is not as nice as the photos. The bedding was old and smelled musty. The owner was a good communicator the management group was not helpful and had a very bad attitude

Fun NOLO Getaway for Family

The host, James, is friendly and communication before and during our stay was easy. We enjoyed learning about his family's local history up and down the street. The location is in the historical Uptown area, walking distance to the zoo and parks.The streetcar has stops on St. Charles, which is just a couple short blocks away, and also the official perimeter of The Garden District, although the beauty of the houses and flowers flow throughout the entire neighborhood. The house itself is half of a double shotgun home from the 20's. We loved the history and unique experience, but appreciated the TV's in each room. There is a large custom built, open closet for hanging clothes. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was stocked with coffee and spices and plenty of other items we didn't really need since we ate out so much. The three of us just couldn't get enough of the amazing food around town.We loved the oysters at Superior Seafood. The Creole Oysters at Gallier's were the best -129 Carondelet St. Both are by tram stops. The French Quarter Music Festival was such a treat! We will definitely book with James in the future. Thank you for making us feel at home.

Great people and history

Loved staying at James' place. He gave a great introduction to the neighborhood and New Orleans. It was fantastic meeting his sister and some of the other neighbors and learning about the neighborhood. Easy walk to the street car. Hope to return and stay here again!

March Birthday trip

Loved the place! Clean, relaxed, everything you could need to have on hand! We arrived very very late at night, and were so happy to find coffee, sugar and cream available for morning coffee! Plenty of towels, sheets, blankets, pillows, paper and toiletries! Beautiful sunny front porch with chairs to sit in while having our morning coffee. Trolley car right down the street. Quiet and just so serene, perfect place to come back to after a day of exploring New Orleans. Safe neighborhood, walking distance to Audubon park.

Always a pleasure

This was our 3rd time going back to the house and we just love everything about it. The location is perfect. The neighborhood is lovely and we love walking to Camellia’s Grill in the mornings for breakfast. The house always is perfect and clean and has everything we need.
