「When I think of primitive I think of a tent and sleeping bags and a trip to outhouses or a private spot to do your business.
Cabins in a Clearing is a step up; though the bathroom arrangements are as described above. There are porta potties but quite away from two of the three cabins. That isn't fun. The cabins are clean with a comfortable bed and linens, and while there is no electricity there are battery powered lamps indoors and a protected area to charge your phones and laptops.

The cabin was so well insulated from the cold that we only ran the heater in the morning and evening for ~15 minutes and it kept itself a comfortable temperature (we were there mid October). The hosts provided extras like matches, lanterns, and chairs around the fire among others that made our visit even better. 「We did not get the traditional B&B experience - this house is owned by a corporation and no one lives in it. That being said, there is an easy to park in (off-street) parking lot, the bed was super comfy, everything was clean, breakfast was delicious, the shower had good pressure, the tub was big, and the hot tub was clean. 「If you’re desperate and need a place to park, there’s a good slab of cement for you. People definitely permanently live here in their campers too, and their arms length away from your spot, so be prepared to make some friends….the owner stopped replying to me so they don’t get a great review.
I was looking for a place to camp, not a place to park, so please if you’re looking for the same thing, this is not it. I arrived, laughed, and left. Didn’t even get out of my car.」

「Overall we had a nice stay. Clean, quiet and nice location in the small town of Nelsonville. Only comment on advice related to breakfast is get there when it's planned to start as there's a set amount of food and that is it. 「We really enjoyed our stay! Everyone was super friendly and good about communicating. Jen did an amazing job cooking for all of us and keeping the bed and breakfast clean. It was only disappointing in that we had the room booked for a few weeks, and someone who booked the night before accidentally got our room and we were the ones who had to change to a different one.
