Let me start by saying that we are frequent visitors in natchitoches and this hotel is our favorite in the area and where we stay every trip since we’ve discovered it. Our stays are usually very pleasant, but this is the second negative review I’ve had to write in a row. Check in was great as usual with their always helpful and friendly desk staff. The problem started when we were going to our room. When we turned the corner after exiting the elevator there were piles of dirty linens outside of every door and housekeeping carts dispersed among the piles in the middle of the hallway. It was like walking through a maze to reach our room. We even had to walk over linen piles a few times because they blocked the entire walkway. This is bad enough for me, but my husband is disabled and walks with a cane which made it even more difficult, not to mention dangerous, for him. We didn’t actually see any housekeepers but we could definitely hear them having very loud conversations between rooms. Once we made it to our room, we wanted to rest a bit after our long drive in. That ended up being impossible as the housekeepers were banging things around in the surrounding rooms for almost an hour. The rest of the stay was pretty uneventful, but it was already ruined. Like I said, we LOVE this hotel and I hate writing negative reviews about it, but I hope it gets read by people who can actually do something about it. Both of our bad experiences have been due to housekeeping. Please do better!
