The hotel has a very nice decor and interesting history and is well located, but its maintenance is its weak point. I asked for the promised upgrade and the guy at the front desk couldn't grant it, claiming that the manager was off duty. The floor tiles in our room were peeling off and were held in place with clear tape (!!!). The lighting was poor, and two light bulbs didn't work. The hair conditioner bottle in the bathroom was empty and the towel sets were incomplete. The steam extractor in the bathroom didn't work, and as a result the walls, glass, mirror, and other elements remained damp after a hot shower. However, the beds were very comfortable, with freshly laundered and spotless sheets. The luggage storage service was excellent and the attendant offered us very helpful and accurate tips.
