"Hoshinoya Fuji is just so beautiful and serene. We stayed for two nights and had the most comfortable bed we slept in during our long trip to Japan. Service was very quick and gracious, always there to book a cab for us (no uber in this area) or bring us an in-room curry at the last minute. Donald hooked us up with amazing recommendations for hiking Mt Fuji and Aokigahara Forest. The breakfast and dinner prepared by the hotel were plentiful and delicious. The walls in our room were a little dirty seemingly from people’s suitcases rubbing against them but overall the room was absolutely incredible with a stunning view of Mt Fuji, very quiet and comfortable. There were also outdoor backpacks to rent for free that had things like binoculars, cushions, and little fig/granola type bars in them, which was great so that we didn’t have to use our travel backpacks! Our favorite feature of this hotel was the patio set up with had a table on it flanked by large cushions and lined with a heated blanket that we fell asleep sitting at the first night! It is the size of a bed and just as comfortable/warm, but outside!! We loved it! The only things we would change are 1) the shower - it’s a handheld in a bathtub that makes it really easy to spray water all over the bathroom if you’re not careful… maybe just add a normal shower head? The pressure and temperature were great though. And 2) an outdoor hot tub! 😆 Thanks for a great stay, Hoshinoya! "

"This hotel was the best experience we had during our 2 week tour of Japan. The service and room accommodations were outstanding. If yo are looking for a great experience in the area, this is best place you will find. The views of Mt Fuji at breakfast were outstanding. Thank you to the staff for a great experience. "

"After a few rainy days in Tokyo, we arrived at this hotel still under grey skies, and with not much hope of seeing Mt. Fuji. Hiowever, on opening the curtains the next morning...Wow!! What a site! The view of Fuji from our room was stunning, magnificent! The room was nice an big, although perhaps a little dated (some USB ports would be nice!), but overall, can't complain! We took advantage of the hotel shuttle bus into town, which is very useful, although could be more frequent than once an hour, and has to be pre-booked during busy hours (early morning etc). Additionally, the final service back from town is 19:45, which means there's not really an opportunity to experience the restaurants in Fujikawaguchiko unless you get a taxi back. But to be honest, I would have happily walked back to the hotel to see that view!"

"The property is a bit dated but well maintained, kept clean and in order. It worked out for our family looking for a relaxed and easygoing stay. When we walked for a morning stroll, we caught a beautiful and clear view of Mt Fuji. With rental car, we had access to a selection of restaurants, shops, and activities within the Lake Yamanakako area. But 7/11 is also just a few minute walk and the hotel offers breakfast and dinner for an affordable price. We would stay here again!"

"This is a very nice hotel, the rooms ae large and comfortable, but you have to be okay with futons on teh floor. It is right across from the lake and within walking distance of the Rope line, boat tours and restaurants and cafes. The Hot springs pools are gender separated and in traditional Japanese style, with an outdoor pool and a hotter indoor poole and full showering and washing with shampoo and soap. A very good place with a free shuttle from the station."

"We stayed in several hotels throughout our vacation in Japan and this was by far our favorite hotel. Our room appeared to be newly renovated and was huge! Very clean and so much space. Bed was large and comfortable. Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Shuttles are available to bus station which makes getting to town quicker. You could walk, however it would take awhile and we opted not to do that since it was cold. We enjoyed the hot springs. The view of Mt Fuji was incredible from our balcony. Would stay here again if we are ever back in the Mt Fuji area. "
