Beautiful, colonial hotel in the heart of Matanzas. We were welcomed with the non-alcoholic version of their own cocktail. Very tasty!
Not all rooms have large windows so we opted for the upgrade. However, these rooms face the busy square in front of the hotel. If you are a light sleeper, you might want to take ear plugs with you for this site of the hotel. The hotel has a great restaurant with very reasonable prices, so please do eat there! For desserts, take a look at all the various pastries on display at the cocktail bar. They're all very delicious.
The hotel has a shaded, quiet patio at the back of the first floor. Recommended for relaxing after a long stroll through the city. Another good place to get away from the hustle and bustle is Calle 97, the quai along the San Juan river. This is a newly renovated area with park benches and art galleries (3-4 blocks from the hotel).
