"Stayed for 2 nights as part of a road trip around France. Nice clean site, helpful staff, out of season so very quiet. Like 3 of the other hotels we stayed in during this trip, the swimming pool was not open when we tried to use it despite it being advertised, but otherwise all good"

"We were greeted very warmly by Philippe and his wife, and they offered us coffee when we arrived. We were then shown around the accommodation and given details of the surrounding area and attractions. The accommodation was well equipped and spotlessly clean. It was perfect for our break and in a very quiet area, but easy to find. Nothing was too much trouble for Philippe during our stay which we enjoyed immensely. We hope to return next year, and would definitely stay here again. "

"Well-equipped and spacious gîte for two/four, very quiet and peaceful in late October during an unusually warm spell, situated in beautiful wooded rolling hills but only 15 minutes' drive from Sarlat. Helpful and friendly owners Sandrine and Benoît are on hand if you need anything but unobtrusive when you don't."

"With easy access to surrounding areas, the gîte is in a great position. The gîte itself situated at the back of the property, was quiet and private. Our hosts were very helpful, providing ideas on sights to visit. We enjoyed our stay very much. "

"We had a lovely stay at this wonderful home. We did a lot of research to get someone that had the feel of the area with character and charm and this home definitely nailed that. Very homely, traditional decor and furniture but all the necessities inside and outside the house you would need. Amazing views from the house/balcony was a real highlight, the best from all we looked at. "The property was gorgeous, clean and the pool was stunning. The kitchen was well equipped. We had a lovely family holiday. Just a couple of points to note. The beds were very very firm, to the point of being uncomfortable. Firm beds are not for us. The listing said hot tub. We hadn’t seen one in the pictures so guessed it was a mis-print, but to confirm there is no hot-tub despite it being listed. The WiFi did not work at all. We called the host who was very good and came straight away but...

"We booked this property as a girl holiday getaway for my 40th birthday celebrations. Overall we had a nice stay and found the location great to be able to visit some really stunning towns and villages nearby including Dome, Rocamadour and also had the opportunity to do cannoing in the Dordogne river as it’s such a great spot for it. In terms of the house itself, it had the main things we wanted but I wish the outside area by the pool would have had more greenery or at least a bit of grass....

"La Villa des Consuls is located in the heart of old Sarlat, with all the amenities that entails. The staff is nice and helpful, putting us in touch with a great guide and setting up our taxis to and from the rail station. Breakfast is tasty and reasonably priced, but above all, our two bedroom room was spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. It also included a usable kitchen and a small balcony overlooking the main commercial street. Despite that, it was quiet. I highly recommend this hotel."

All in all....great.

"Overall this was very good. Friendly staff. Nice big bedroom. All very clean and tidy...although it could do with updating, especially the bathroom. The bathroom was very clean but tired...although well scrubbed. The breakfast was plentiful with fruit, cereals, pastries, meats, cheese etc We didn't eat evening meal but it looked OK, but we went to old town Brive for a look around. Overall excellent stay and especially considering the low cost."
