Surrounding area felt decently safe, but the building itself was sandwiched between two inactive construction sites and was dark/gloomy.
Inside seemed like management hadn't invested a dime in the place since the 80s. There were bags of trash visible behind the lobby counter, the room's shower did not function properly, all fixtures were run down, and breakfast was not provided.
Overall, we expected A LOT more from a property rated 9 that cost over $300 per night. Feeling super mislead by the Expedia listing, which clearly used outdated photos (I.e. building sign pictured wasn't even the same). Thankfully, we only had to endure this place for a one-night stopover during our cross-country road trip, so we survived. The following night we stayed at a Marriott that cost half the price, was clean, and had all the amenities we expected. Lesson learned.
Only reason I'm not giving this place the lowest rating possible is because of the kind staff who checked us in/out. Holding out hope that they find a way to escape this dump.
