I can’t recommend this hotel highly enough if you’re wanting to stay in the Hollywood area. It’s on a side street in Franklin village, kind of unassuming (easy to miss that it’s a hotel) but once you’re behind its doors you’re in a little oasis. The inner courtyard is quiet and peaceful. The room was pure luxury - old glam Hollywood in a really tasteful way (I’ve stayed at other Hollywood hotels that attempted this aesthetic/theme less successfully). This place was vintage without being musty, high end all around — sheets, products, furnishings. While glamorous it also was super comfortable. I slept so well here. The only (very minor) drawback was the building is old and there was a tiny bit of “creaking” from footsteps of the room above me. But that was nothing compared to the overall experience which was so quiet, comfortable, peaceful, luxurious and glamorous. Although I was traveling alone I would say this is a very romantic hotel and would be an ideal place to come with a lover. I had mixed experience with the staff. The person who welcomed me had the air of someone (somewhat) trying to be nice who just doesn’t seem to have a naturally friendly disposition. They weren’t outright rude, just a little cold and unfriendly. The next day when I discovered my hairdryer was missing from my room the gentleman who helped me was genuinely friendly and helpful. I would have liked to have been offered an upgrade or some other benefit as an Expedia VIPGuest. I received nothing.
