We arrived at the hotel after being awake for 28 hours. We were exhausted and just wanted to go to sleep in our room. However, when we got to the room there was no heat, ie the vents weren’t working, and because management obviously knew it wasn’t working, they had placed two crappy electric oil heaters in the room. Despite this half hearted attempt to heat the room, the small heaters were hopelessly inadequate as the room had 15 foot ceilings. The room was freezing. We went down to the desk and complained, and they said they knew about the issue, saying it was “limited.” However, they weren’t very apologetic about it. We asked to be moved to another room, but staff didn’t really want to comply, saying it could be arranged for the following night.
Also, while we like a firm bed, this was by far the hardest bed we had ever slept in. We complained about it as well, and a couple of thin toppers were brought up. Staff informed us the beds were exactly the same in every room. We decided to leave but we weren’t guaranteed we’d be refunded for the remaining two nites. Apparently that was up to the discretion of the reservationist. We never heard back from them as promised, so we called the desk in the AM and inquired - they knew Nothing about it and apparently, the email they had promised to send the reservationist was never sent. Finally at the 11th hour (literally, ie checkout time,) we heard they had deigned to refund us for the outstanding two nites. Never. Going. Back.
