French Fields Luxury Glamping is set in 12 acres of stunning French countryside. Our original Mongolian yurt is constructed using traditional methods and materials.
Our Yurt (Stargazers Retreat) consists of a large double bed and a French Day bed that converts into a double and sleeps a additional 2 people. Stargazer Yurt sleeps a maximum of 4 people. (but can have a additional single bed if needed) There is a chest of drawers and a hanging rail as well as 2 bedside cabinets. You can relax on your yurt's deck and enjoy a glass of wine and take in the beautiful scenery and sunsets. Relaxation is the order of the day. You fall asleep watching the stars through the open crown of the yurt. What a truly magical way to fall asleep. The Yurt's lights are powered by a solar panel and you can also charge your phones and computers from the battery panel. The Yurt is served by a composting toilet (10m away) or if you prefer there is a newly fitted shower room with flushing toilet . In our Open Barn ( The Grange) there is a fully fitted kitchen with a range cooker with oven and hob, a microwave, Coffee Machine, BBQ and dining table. You can relax in the 3 seating areas or just chill out on your deck. There is a swimming pool, pool table, darts, ping pong, flat screen Tv, Free WiFi. There are bikes (Free)for those who feel a bit more energetic. There are many safe bikes trails in the area .The Charente region has so much to offer, you can explore the many quaint villages that have food markets, these are a must. Food lovers will relish buying excellent local produce and wine. The area boasts world renowned wine producers and Cognac houses. A visit to these are highly recommended. You can hire canoe's or kayak's and spend the day on river, stopping off at a pretty village or town for a picnic. The area has some stunning Chateau's and many do tours. Many towns have festivals in the summer months and Confolens has a Music festival every August and the whole town vibrates to the sounds of music and drums. You cant help but dance. It is well worth a visit. If you like to wander around antique fairs then this is the place for you. There are weekly antique markets (Brocantes) The Charente Lakes are close by and offer water sports, kayaks, canoes and much more. And after all that excitement come back to your yurt, relax on the yurt's deck and ponder the days events and wonder where you will go the following day.
