Our stay at the Sangregado was excellent. It was the first time in Costa Rica for my family of four. I am so happy that our first experience was at the Sangregado. Our villa was clean, safe, and tucked into the jungle. It was convenient to be across the street from Mistico, but at night when the park cleared out, the setting was peaceful and serene. Our ability to access the pool and restaurant at the Lost Iguana was also a huge benefit, and I can't say enough about the relationship between the two. Finally, I have never been treated with such friendly and professional service. The Sangregado staff went out of their way to ensure my family had everything we needed and more. I would give them 6 stars if I could!

The view from our room (#11) was unbelievable. We had a full window wall that provided a jaw-dropping view of the volcano. Impressive!!! It was very convenient being adjacent to Mistico Arenal Hanging Bridges Park. There are no restaurants at the Lodge but the neighboring hotel has a very nice restaurant which is just a very short drive down the hill. Breakfast, which is included, is also at this restaurant and is very good. The drive into LaFortuna is about 15-20 minutes or so. Highly recommend if you don't mind being outside of LaFortuna.

Very safe secluded area directly across from Mistico hanging bridges. Room was better than expected and great free breakfast at lost iguana only a small drive away. There was a little mix up with the check out procedure so pay close attention but their customer service was great and solved any issue I had. Would definitely recommend this place. Thank you.

We stayed here for 4 nights, it was a bit pricey in my opinion, but it had a stunning view of the hillsides and the volcano (when it wasn't cloud cover). You will need transportation in and out as it's a bit off the beaten path. The Villas are nice and updated on the inside. The bathroom and deck are definitely bigger features in the room as you can sit on the deck and stare out into the lush green fields or you can have a bath doing the same. Breakfast was included but you have to go down the hill (2 minute drive, there is also a shuttle that goes once and comes back once, or you can walk, ha), it was a typical buffet style breakfast so nothing overly impressive but good way to start the day. The staff in both the Sangregado and the Blue Hibiscus (restaurant below) were amazing and super accommodating. They were fantastic when it came to recommend tours, excursions, and places to eat. They will even make reservations for you and you can add the price of the excursion to your room tab. On an end note, the place was quiet, clean, and a pleasant place to kick back and relax.

Francisco was so super friendly and helpful! He booked us for Mistico and offered to book other excursions. He was able to provide recommendations for food and excursions. He walked our bags to the room upon our arrival, after cutting open fresh coconuts for us to drink. We enjoyed our stay!

We stayed in Villa #1 which is a 2 bedroom suite. It is perfect. The weather was not so great for the two days we stayed, but we still enjoyed the place very well because of the beauty of the villa and the surroundings. We saw a lot of birds, a big family of peccaries, and two coatis. We went to Mistico park early in the morning before the tourist traffic picked up. It was so peaceful. I highly recommend the horse riding tour as well which is right by the park. The location of the lodge makes it so convenient to enjoy the best out of the mountain.

The rooms are just like the picture. We stayed in Villa 11 for the first night then moved to Villa 13 due to 11 not being available for all the nights we were staying there. We preferred Villa 11 because it had a table and chairs on the deck outside along with a chair swing. The views (when it wasn't cloudy) were stunning. The sounds of the rainforest were amazing - especially in the bathroom where there is a screen and you can hear the outside without having a window/door open. The room was very clean (an occasional bug but we didn't mind, it is the rainforest). Easy to drive to - we didn't have a 4x4 and were fine. The breakfast at the lodge down the road was very good and the property is beautiful. The Mistico hanging bridges park is just a walk across the street and definitely recommend. We also booked an excursion thru the lodge with La Roca which is also just 10 minutes away (they pick you up at that the lodge - the road to their location is best with a 4x4). It is about 25 minutes from town center. If you are looking for quiet but with restaurants and excursions nearby, I would recommend this place.

Loved my stay at Sangregado Lodge. I booked it for the view of the Arenal Volcano from the room and it did not disappoint. It was stunning. The room was clean, modern and it felt like you were in the rainforest. It rained quite a bit but it’s part of the experience when you’re near the rainforests but when it cleared up, you can easily see the volcano. Free breakfast was included, which was not onsite, it was actually at Lost Iguana resort, a very short drive - food was very good and the vegetation surrounding the restaurant was beautiful, saw so many species of birds, and other wildlife. We went back for dinner once, food was delicious but can be pricey. We decided to use the free transportation to get over there and back. The lodge is right across from Mistico Park Hanging Bridges so if you plan to go, it’s literally right there. A lot of nice hikes in the area, all within driving distance. We decided to hike Arenal 1968. The lodge offered free coffee/tea and also had a filtered water station at the reception area so you can refill your water bottle which was a bonus given food/water was expensive in the area. Highly recommend this stay if you want to wake up and be surrounded by nature. Staff was super friendly. Francisco was an absolute gem, really enjoyed his hospitality - just a great guy overall.
