We enjoyed the clean, cozy apartment - especially the well-stocked kitchenette and the lovely view from the balcony. The best part, however, was the care that our host, John, took to make sure we enjoyed our visit to the fullest. He provided snorkeling fins for our kids, a cooler for cold drinks, sunblock, and beach towels for our outings, and he gave us wonderful tips for grocery stores and restaurants. He also introduced us to a phenomenal snorkeling guide, David Glick.
PRO TIPS: 1. Washington Slagbaai National Park is worth the trip - but be sure to rent a truck as the roads are unpaved and rough. 2. Do a guided nighttime snorkel and experience the bioluminescent and nocturnal ocean creatures. We saw huge tarpon, eels, parrot fish nesting, and even the elusive ostracods that only appear 2-5 days after the full moon. It was a magical experience.
