This private room in a shared lodge is much like a hotel room with internet, cable and streaming tv, as well as it's own private bathroom. It has a comfortable queen bed and a forest view from the large windows. The room is enhanced with Luxury granite and other stone finishes throughout including custom floor to ceiling tiled shower with glass shower door and a granite vanity. The Lucky Duck room also has a washer and dryer in its private bathroom. Lucky Duck is on the second level of the property.
The common area is grandiose with master craftsmanship and eclectic decor. There you will share a kitchen and bar seating area. The entire lodge is a piece of art to be showcased. Owner, Johney Engle uses his artistic talent to create amazing kitchens for homeowners. He opened, what is still, the only stone fabrication shop from Surrey British Columbia to Anchorage Alaska, in 1985. He built his home and shop here with pride, branding it with custom rock and other 3-dimensional art pieces throughout. Your private studio apartment is no exception and host Johney will help you have a local Alaska experience! If you like the outdoors, you'll love the trails and fishing spots within walking distance. There are many fun, excursions a mile away at Statter harbor in Auke Bay, including kayaking, paddle boarding, and whale watching. Johney is there to point you in the right direction for the experiences you're looking for. Johney's rock fabrication shop is below your room with operations from 8am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Shop noise can be heard from your room.
Lucky Duck is a private room inside the shared area of Precision Lodge. Access to the Lodge is shared with occupants of up to two additional rooms within this area. The common kitchen features refrigerator, dishwasher, hot plate, microwave, and toaster oven. The property borders the Tongass National Forest and in close proximity to Auke Lake, Auke Bay, the University of Alaska and the famous Mendenhall Glacier. It's the perfect base for an adventurous Juneau visit with lots of local flare. You can rent fishing poles and bicycles on site for use within close proximity.
An artist had a dream and he's inviting you to enjoy it. This is an experience, not just a place to stay. You'll be thrilled and inspired. Precision Lodge stories will be told as you recant your Alaska vacation memories into the future. Johney is passionate and fun. His work is unique. It's edgy, and it's hard-core. Much of his art is three-dimensional, assemblage style. Johney figured out that he could make kitchens into art, so he studied rock shops around the country, created his own tools, and opened his stone fabrication shop in his home garage in 1999. Johney's eye for the perfect rock and design to match his customer's personality landed him on the cover of Southeast Living Magazine. He's a classic entrepreneur, turning one sale into another tool, and eventually he built his shop in the back, and expanded the home around it until a masterpiece was created, and ready to share with you. Self-portraiture by late Skylar Engle is displayed throughout the property. These two Engle's have produced brilliant art, with outstandingly contrasting styles to interest you. I
