"Best option for value, location and comfort. I arrived close to midnight and the staff were so welcoming. Public bus to/ from airport and Santa’s village are a few blocks away. Just pay with a credit card. 2 shopping centers within 2 blocks and a 12-15 minute walk to the Articles Garden to see the Northern Lights. Sauna is warm 6-9 pm and unisex. Very nice. Bed was comfy and bathroom large and warm. Definitely worth iit and affordable. "

"This is not by any stretch of the imagination a hotel. It would be generous to describe it as a tired student hall of residence or a cheap backpaper's hostel that has seen better days. The room is stark and very poorly equipped. Advertised for 'self catering' there were no amenities whatsover provided - no crockery or cutlery, no cooking utensils, not even a mug. "We love going to Scandic, if only for the breakfasts! They honestly are very good and varied, and with a flare of national delicacies like the Karjalanpiirakka (I liked mine with jam) We stayed on the top floor meaning we were away from street noise, but to be honest, the location is very quiet anyway, and yet so close to the centre, and railway station- making public transport from the airport a breeze. We would have loved to try out the communal sauna, but sadly our British side prevented us...

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Arthur. While this property is older, everything we saw was clean and well maintained. The room was smaller, but big enough for the two of us. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was very good, with options familiar to Europeans, Brits and North Americans. The Karelian pastries with egg butter were a fantastic find. And the location is ideal. If you are here to see Helsinki, on your own dime, this is an excellent place...
