My biggest and most concerning issue was with Expedia. We book though Expedia (NEVER AGAIN) and prepaid for our 6-night stay. Due to a terrible winter storm, our flight was cancelled, and we could not get rebooked to Jamicia until the following day on Tuesday. We called Expedia to see if they could move our check in date to Tuesday. The customer service rep was NOT helpful and told us that the hotel did not have availability for us to stay our full 6 night's stay beginning now on Tuesday unsteady of Monday.
When we arrived at the hotel, they said they had plenty of availability for us to stay our full 6 night's stay, but Expedia would need to change the reservation. From there we kept getting the run around from Expedia and was told to keep checking back with us, which we did for several days with no response. On two occasions, I was talked to a customer service representative who both hung up on me.
Needless to say, Expedia went ghost on us and after several days after being back home, I have yet to get a response from the two emails I sent a week ago.
On one occasion the hotel representative in Jama who has worked in the hotel business for 17 years told me that Expedia always takes the approach to NOT help customers in situations like mine as they do not want to give me the one night's say ($380). It's shameful as they definitely are now ignoring me and its apparent, they do not want to help and will do anything to not refund your money. Shameful Expedia!!!!!!
