"We got there just after 6pm. The place was open but there is no reception, nor was anyone there to greet us and no phone number to call. Fortunately there was a couple of guys staying there who were able to call someone who let us into our room. I couldn’t remember if this was a pay at property or if we had prepaid so I asked the guy who told me we owed €75. We offered him our credit card but he asked for cash and it wasn’t till the next morning I discovered that we had indeed pre-paid. The...

"We had a very pleasant stay in Blandine’s well appointed gite. She welcomed us warmly, with a guided tour, information pack relating to accommodation, maps and guides for local walks and points of interest. She was nearby in case of queries, too. Guise is a small town, and can be reached on foot, for supermarket, bakery, cafes etc. There are many lovely walks nearby and wide country views."

"We have just spent a lovely two weeks here, the Gite was just what we were looking for and the weather was fine also. The owners were extremely welcoming and so kind, you couldn’t wish for more. I would say that the photos on the site were probably from a few years ago, but everything was as it said. "We stayed for 7 nights and had a great time. The children loved exploring on their bikes, feeding the horses and visiting the local swimming pool. Cottage was very well equipped and the hosts were very helpful and knowledgeable. Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

"Family break for a week - five adults and a four years old child. The accomodation is really well set up - en-suite bathrooms in all bedrooms, a good kitchen and secure garden. Hostess was there to greet us. Being August, the town was really quiet, so I would say a car is essential. Supermarkets available around 4km away. I would thoroughly recommend the property."

"Very nice home with everything you need. Lovely garden with fabulous trees and lots of birds. Some information about local area would have been useful eg local restaurants and where bakers were. However we drove around to find them."

"Nice, clean property with pleasant garden. Owner lives next door and kindly provided us with fresh eggs from his hens! Unfortunately there was no hot tub which had been stated in the advert. When asked about this the owner said he knew nothing about a hot tub. As the hot tub was the main reason for choosing this gite we were extremely disappointed. The next day when we reviewed the advert again there was no mention of a hot tub. Very disappointing and misrepresented. L. Reed "

"We had to find a property at a minute’s notice due to unforeseen circumstances. This could not have been better for our needs. The owners were welcoming, helpful and very accommodating. We had two 20 month girls and it was a great place for them. The toys and games in the property were fantastic. Beautifully French

"We arrived late in the evening and called our hosts they gave checkin instructions over the phone and all the info we needed for our stay. The apartment was lovely and beautifully furnished and stocked. The bathroom was clean and well appointed. I highly recommend staying here. The only concern one might have is there is no elevator, it was no problem for us but could be. The whole building was incredibly beautiful and so quaint. "

THE PERFECT PIT STOP

"What a great stop off point on the way through northern France. It’s a perfect one nighter if you are travelling through France - in our case to southern Italy. Staff are super friendly and helpful, especially Laura on reception. Food is also pretty good. They serve in glass jars - which may sound a little trendy - but actually super practical when there isn’t a chef. Yes they are probably heated in the microwave- but it’s a damn sight better than some of the terrible food much of France has to offer. Hotel is fully renovated and feels new and super clean. "

Great spot for overnight stop

"A great overnight stop en route to skiing . Secure car park a big plus ! Arrived late but reception was open and very helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable although hairdryer would be good ! Breakfast good . Overall, great . Really good bar a short distance away my kids tell me 😀"
