While the property itself was clean and staff were friendly. There were a few things that we disliked from this trip. Called twice to get more towels to our room, never received them. Pool area you have to check out towels and turn them back in or you get charged $10 per towel. (Bring your own) check in was atrocious close to 2 hours and they were trying to give us a cheaper room at the higher rate we originally booked. Our room had a few things that were broken or needed maintenance of. All in all our trip was good.

So many pools to choose from for the kids. The best pool is the furthest away. Golf is great here and super reasonable. Only downside was check in, i stood in line for over an hour to get keys and room info. Luckliy the rest of the family ate at the nearby restaurant, so it only sucked for me.

Clean property! Our place was perfect for the family. It was nice having a full kitchen so we could cook and lots of shopping nearby. Pools were great. The kids enjoyed the waterside especially, as well as the arcade/ game rooms. I enjoyed the gym amenities.... equipmemt was much more than most hotel type places. It was convenient having everything in one place.

We were very pleased with our stay. Kids loved the pool and our room offered all the comforts of home. Staff was very friendly and if we had questions the text messaging feature helped us get quick answers. We were also notified of special events and check out procedures via text to keep us informed at all times.

First time here. Older place, built in the 80's, so it is a bit out dated in terms of the overall design. Rooms were not ready at check-in which was at 4pm. Not due to overbooking or being overly busy, but general housekeeping times. Didn't get in to the room til close to 5pm. Good thing the wife and kiddo were able to access the pool while waiting. Front Desk staff were a bit stressed and not so jovial. There are about 5 pools onsite, 3 out of the 5 were packed, but the one up on the mountain near the owners lounge was clean and spacious. There is another pool near the fishing pond that was not crowded at all and had an uncrowded recreation area. Canyon Grille restaurant was decent but not great. Over priced for the quality. I ordered food for pick up one evening and while waiting, 4 waitresses + a manager were complaining so much in front of me and other guests about their serving areas. Fishing was a fun activity and very unique. I had a great time with my little one fishing. No bites, but the experience and memories is what it's about. Lastly, if you have to work at all during your trip, the WIFI is awful. No reception and very slow. Wife had to go to San Marcos to a Starbucks for a quick zoom meeting. For the price point, it was ok. TBH, I would rather spend the extra $ and head over to our usual MarBrisa in Carlsbad. Better amenities, area restaurants, cleaner and less crowded pools, close to Legoland with its own back entrance, and staff is always nice and upbeat.

We checked in at 4pm and didn’t receive the room until 7:45pm . Long waiting for the room. Very bad experience specially when we drove all the way from San Francisco to SD and didn’t get the room ready for us. No excuses and saying that they have 4 hours windows waiting time after check in. Terrible service from the front desk when I asked to late check out . I lost my wallet in the hotel restaurant and they didn’t even contact us or the room to notify us. Until we go ask for the second day.

Wonderful place, but if you don’t like stairs make sure to ask for ground floor as they don’t mention there are no elevators. Only one restaurant for whole place so not many options there. Villas very clean and spacious. Great pools.

This was our first time staying here and while we did get there earlier than the check in time (4pm) we waited at the pool to have fun. When 4pm came around we were told our room wasn’t ready yet. We had to wait till 6pm and figure out what to do. Because of this we asked if there could be any perk for us having to wait. Only $35 off our total. Our check in was not smooth or good. The pools were really nice but it seemed like everytime I asked for something the staff was very cut and dry. I would think that there would be some wiggle room to entice your guest to want to buy a membership/ownership there. But no. Read age limits in activities, two activities directors were great! Picasso and pour was soo fun def book that. We were waiting at the shuttle only to find out it was closed. A maintained worker saw us and called a bell boy service which was really nice of him, there were many other employees that saw us waiting there and said nothing. We would go back to stay maybe not during spring break as they kept telling me they are booked at 100% so things might take longer. We rented a Cabana which was fun and nice, one thing I would expect with a Cabana rental is having the fridge already stocked, towels already there and maybe some pool ball blow ups. Presentation is key. The pool staff were great! Super friendly. We would not buy there but stay as a mini getaway.

This resort could be fantastic—especially if it’s quiet. The facilities are great and very family-friendly, and the pool area is a big highlight for kids. However, the biggest issue we ran into was noise. You can hear even small sounds from the unit above—things like opening kitchen drawers or flushing the toilet. Unfortunately, we had kids staying above us, which made it particularly noisy throughout the day and early mornings. The pool itself is fun, but maintenance seemed inconsistent. As the day went on, garbage would build up around the pool area, including things like beer cans, and the bathrooms had toilet paper scattered around. Towels also ran out on a couple of the days we were there, which was frustrating with young kids. Housekeeping was another challenge. We were told it would happen every other day, but it didn’t occur until five nights into our stay—and only after I followed up multiple times. We even left the room on a few occasions expecting it to be cleaned, only to return and find it hadn’t been done. Overall, there’s a lot of potential here. The resort has great amenities and could be excellent with better upkeep and staffing. But between the noise transfer in the units and the inconsistent service, it didn’t fully meet expectations for us.
