Checked in on Thursday for a two night stay. Was able to check in a little early. Girl at the front desk was nice. I had prepaid for two nights. Parking was easy. Getting the the room was easy. Room was decent and clean. Area was nice and everything was easy to get to. About 1pm on the second day someone opened our room door and told us we had to check out. I tried to explain that I had the room for two nights. They said I didn’t and that I needed to check out immediately as someone was waiting to check into the room. Called down stairs and the lady that I talked to was super rude. Tried telling her that I was looking at my room reservation as I was talking to her and I prepaid for two nights and my check out wasn’t until Saturday. She was very rude. Told me my reservation was not for two days and I had to vacate the room. Continued to try and explain things to her. She didn’t care. Said it didn’t matter I needed to check out as someone was waiting to check into the room. Eventually she said I needed to come to the front desk. Now in my opinion good customer service would have said there must be some confusion come to the front desk so we can figure it out but no this lady was rude and basically was telling me I was in the wrong and it didn’t matter what my reservation said nor did it matter that I prepaid. So I got ready went down stairs. I ended up dealing with the same lady that checked me in. She was in the phone with a manger and it eventually got straightened out.

Great location! We got the 2 room suite and it was perfect for our family,however, the soap and shampoo dispensers and had been refilled, so that was very disappointing and inconvenient!

It was a nice place to stay. Staff was wonderful at helping with special need requested and put notes in the system. Got to hotel and shower chair was not in room. Called and they brought up right away. But found the 2 bathroom showers didn’t have any safty bars on the walls to help handicap people. They help with the daily charge of parking since we had a handicap family member. Otherwise parking would have cost us $16.00 a day. Hot tub was kinda gross because a girls soccer team went direct to pool area after game without showering first. Staff was short handed on Saturday and told me on the phone that there was no housekeeping to deliver toilet paper. Our room didn’t have any house keeping the whole time we were there. So I had to go to the front desk for toilet paper. The moring breakfast was just ok. The setup staff for that was very slow. Otherwise we had a good stay. Very nice location.

The room was large and spacious. Hallways well lit and clean. Our suite - 1 bed not made, but 1 was. Bathrooms were very clean. However conditioner dispenser was empty. Carpet looked unvacuumed, still had visible pet hair. Refrigerator not cleaned, 2 bottles of pop and half a can of dog food left in it. It is near several restaurants and easy walk to Bayfront and the Decc.

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience at this hotel. The person at check in was very hard to understand and our room keys were not keyed properly. We found our room on the 4th floor with 2 hallway entry doors, one of which had a broken lock. There were no outside windows in this hotel room, which felt like a huge fire hazard. The walls and ceiling were paper thin - heard everyone who walked down the hall, the shower next door and things dropping on the floor above us. The only redeeming quality of the hotel was the location. Extremely disappointed in this property!

We have been frequent visitors to The Suites for over a decade. This particular time...we ended up having to wait over an hour for our room. They were short staffed and there was a major event at the DECC (for which we were participating). The manager on duty discounted our room cost appropriately without us even asking. THANK YOU! We live in a "vacation destination" area also and are aware of the staffing opportunities. We thank the staff for all they do!!! We will always return.

They should really update the photos for this place. It has been remodeled. It’s a great place for families. The bedrooms with a door is a game changer. There’s a kitty pool. Free Breakfast was great. Walkable to everything in canal park. The only downfall was that the key cards stopped working periodically. They will have to fix that because even the staff was annoyed.
