It’s always easy to point out the bad, so I will start with the good. Free and fairly convenient parking, mostly clean, not unfriendly front desk service, the breakfast was better than expected, the bedding seemed updated, no bugs seen anywhere. The downside, the trains! All night long right outside our window, the smell! It smelled like curry in the halls extremely strong, stains on the towels, a white substance on the headboard that my we cleaned, the high concentration of homeless meant a lot of things like public restrooms were locked. The canal area near the hotel was a nice walk and the main downtown area was all closed while we’re were there but it looked super cute. Not a great stay, I’d look elsewhere next time, but not terrible.

Wppe and easy. Great location although near train tracks with noise. Tune that out and great location for everything and it's right eo ntown for walking to parks, B&O railroad, dining and shopping.

The property looked very old and run down. The lobby was a mismatch of old beaten up furniture and it smelled of weed in the elevator. There were many surfaces in the room that needed cleaning. There was splatter of something white over the bathroom sink, the tub surface was very stained, there was a smearing of something on the headboard, and things just looked very run down. The breakfast had only a couple options. The sausage gravy for the biscuits and gravy was kept sitting out a concerning temperature, I was just like warm. That and the make it yourself waffles were the only warm breakfast options and we honestly were not sure if everything was safe to eat so we left to get breakfast elsewhere. The area and the hotel felt a little unsafe. I’m sure the historic downtown part was quaint but we only stayed over night and arriving in the dark it did not look like a place i would like to stay longer.

The room is clean and hotel, breakfast needs more hot food to offer, only biscuit and gravy was there, good there’s yogurt fruit and bagel. But it is better to have bacon or any continental breakfast. Mattress need to be change, only spring we are sleeping on, need pillows to be change. Not update bathrroom, 1 shampoo and 1 conditioner for 2 person???

This property is deplorable and the staff is very rude. The hotel is listed as pet friendly. We have two small 4 lb dogs. We checked in they gave us our room key. When we went to get on the elevator they start yelling across the lobby saying we can’t go to our room because we have dogs. They end up switching our room to a pet room (no big deal) we get to that room and the smell was awful. The room looked liked it hadn’t even been properly cleaned. On top of that we reserved a 2 queen bed room. When we get to the pet room it is 2 full size beds. We called the front desk thinking it was an error only to be told oh no we only have full size in pet rooms. None of this was ever said at the initial check in. Then they proceed to tell us they are kicking us out and calling the police on us. We tell them that is fine we are leaving anyway. We were exiting the hotel when we get a notification that they charged us 150.00 dollars. We had already been charged through Expedia. So, We call the police. They tell the police that they charged us that because they know we were smoking in the room and because we have the two dogs. We were in the room for less then 10 minutes. The police stated that they have to come to this hotel almost ever night for a vast amount of calls pertaining to this same type of issue and other issues like drugs, fighting, etc. if I could give this hotel zero stars I would.

Common area carpet floors needed cleaning, curtains smelt stale, the snack bar had Gatorade that made your hands numb on consumption. Check in was easy, checkout was easy bedding was clean, towels were clean.

The check in and the breakfast was poor. I waited five minutes before someone came to check me in. They could try a little harder with the food. There is only one operating elevator and ice machine in the whole building . Very poor water pressure in the shower. But I guess for the money and downtown location it’s not bad, just don’t expect much and you won’t be disappointed!

I've stayed here several times, it's my go to spot when stopping in Cumberland, MD. The historic downtown can be a little sketchy at times, especially at night, so I always follow the lighted streets to the center city area.
