The hotel and room is nice. But that’s all I can say about this place. Let’s go ahead and run down all the ridiculousness that comes with the Blackwell hotel.
OK, so I booked my hotel through a third-party (Expedia, it’s much easier than dealing with hotels as you know). The price was equivalent to the hotels price online. Simple process, printed out my confirmation along with confirmation-email, and the cost of the room was already taken from my bank account and paid for.
Here is where things start to go bad…. upon arrival the doorman and valet team were noticeably upset with me because I did not use the valet service, it’s the same cost as parking your own vehicle for those that care. I’d rather not let someone else drive my car, doesn’t make me a bad person. Now, (enter the college boy “bro mentality” attitude. Y’all know the ego tripping frat boy mentality…. It was now on full display for other guest to witness).
This now spews over to the clerk at the front desk as if he was apart of the exchange at the front doors. The young man verified my purchase through Expedia and checked me in. He asked to see my ID and a credit card to have on file for “room incidental's”, I oblige and hand over my cards as we all would agree is a standard policy. Just a hold and typically a buck or some odd ball dollar amount. He tells me that it’s a $50 (FIFTY DOLLAR) hold on my card. Reluctantly I accept, because I’m only sleeping in the room, not throwing a party.
Fast forward to next morning
