We came here after Hurricane Helene hit our town of Asheville, NC. We had booked on Expedia for 2 nights at a good rate but we didn't make any further reservations bc we didn't know what was happening in our town due to no cell signal or internet. On our last day, we asked at the front desk if we could extend one more day bc we had found out we still had no power or running water. Front desk said they were showing no availability bc they were holding rooms for linemen coming into the area to help but we could check back the next day and if they were allowed to release rooms, we could keep our room no problem. We completely understood. The next day, they said we could keep the room. We asked if we needed to book on Expedia. They said, it would show as no availability but they could fix it. We were very appreciative.
We returned home and a few days later finally got cell signal in our area. I looked at the emailed bill and they had charged me 1 night at the Expedia rate and 2 nights at the higher rate. I immediately called and explained the situation. Although she was nice, she said oh no we don't price matched with Expedia, you should have rebooked with them. I said I would have but your front desk person said they could take care of it. Then the other issue was I was overcharged for the 2nd night from Expedia. I had to email my confirmation. So they had to refund me where they overcharged that night, but refused to for the 3rd night. Watch their billing!!
