"Nice stay in this facility. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Breakfast was good. Lovely old building. Room was clean. Location was ok for downtown SJ but extra care needed in area very close by. Wouldn't want to stray too far in the wrong direction after dark ( or early Sunday morning as we did !) would recommend this place. "

"This was fine for a one night stay ahead of heading to the airport but I wouldn’t stay more than a night. The location isn’t great (although the parking lot is helpful). It’s hard to access downtown - about a 20 minute walk to the Gold Museum - and there’s not much around. The lobby and restaurant and bar are nice. The food was excellent and the staff there was nice. The room wasn’t great. The bathroom needed upgrading and a deep clean. I’m also fairly certain housekeeping entered our room...

"The staff is excellent! Great location to the downtown museums and Theater. The train runs behind the building during the day, but I didn't hear any at night."

"We have stayed at Steve’s and Nancy’s for two weeks and experienced their hospitality, friendliness and such a warmth. Loved the place : super comfortable, very private yet close enough to know the host is there when you need them. Steve and his helper rescued us from a very daring car trouble for which we were so grateful. We enjoyed the tranquility and spectacular views, jacuzzi on the huge terrace was awesome. We will go back next year."

"The owner was selling and there was no staff, no manager to help me as promised. There was only one woman there part time to clean. There was no breakfast. The owner gave me a larger room at the same rate to compensate. But, this really still was uncomfortable I was the only person in this large house for most of my stay. Yes, the only person. The Internet was intermittent and I really felt used. If the owner was selling she should have told me in advance. So, I was the very last guest in an...
