The service was impeccable, facility’s were always clean. Two down falls were how hard was to make reservations at the dinner restaurants. Also the activity’s at the main pool could have been better. Would definitely visit again though!

We travelled to Marina El Cid with a group of 5 adults and we absolutely loved our stay. The employees are amazing, we cant say enough about the facilties and the cleanliness We got home yesterday and My husband and I are already looking at booking again.

Overall, this is good, but not great resort. Here are my ratings for categories. Room- 4/10. We had a room fiasco. We are Expedia Gold members and this comes with a free upgrade room upgrade, if they are available. They were available at a cost to us. First, person we talked to while checking in told us an “upgrade” would $1,500 for a double bed with a pull out Murphy bed. They gave us room 19015 which was small and wouldn’t be to accommodate our family. So I go back to talk with another gentleman and now the rates are lower after I negotiated. The question is why would I need to have to do this? All of the Michigan families that we went with had to do the same thing. It’s like a bait and switch technique so watch out people. Finally paid extra for the room, I should have received in the 1st place. We were “upgraded” to 18411. Food- 7/10 Mainly good. Buffets were the standard all inclusive fair. Hibachi grill was the best meal we had. Gym- 4/10. Not enough equipment for a resort this size in either of the gyms. Decent treadmills, dumbbells only go up to 60 lbs. Pools- 8/10. Pools were nice with fun activities at main pool, infinity pools were more chill and family oriented. Service- 9/10. Employees were all nice and truly seemed to care except for front desk people. Drinks- 5/10. Not the best, not the worst. Nightlife- 9/10. Some of the best night life of any resort we have been to. The clubs and lobby bar were super fun with good dj’s. Overall 6.5/10

Lovely resort, but just a few issues… The beach isn’t great here. There are ugly barriers put up which prevents you from being able to go swim in the water. The dining options are hard. The resort caters to the time share customers, so if you don’t have a time share, be ready to only be able to eat dinner at 5:00 or 9:00. The slide at the main pool is unsafe.

Resort was quite nice, and food was good. Lots of pool options with partnering hotel. Quiet at night, not a lot to do. Biggest complaint would be the non-allowance of the sun umbrellas around the resort. Was breezy, but not strong winds and all week would put our umbrellas up, as most others, and they were very quick to come take them down. It was extremely hot pool side with no sun coverage. Last note…the $600 Resort Credit that came with Expedia bookings was no more than a coupon book, mostly $20 off $200 spa packages. We used and had no use for any of the coupons.

Such a beautiful place, also immaculate. I loved the Mexican culture; all the staff were always so helpful and super kind. They always had such lovely smiles. Without a doubt would come back if given the chance. One thing though is it does smell kinda funky at first, I think due to the seaweed; however they were always diligent to clean it. I always see them in the morning by the beach. The water was clear, and lots of choices for bar, and restaurants.

Overall this is a fantastic resort that we would give 4.5 stars if it were an option. The .5 that we deducted was because the beach was not ideal (although there was a strong effort by the resort to improve it), dinner reservations were a bit challenging (unless you like to eat at 9 pm), and we did not like the push to go to the membership breakfast upon arrival.

I’ve stayed in many all inclusive resorts and this was the best one I’ve stayed in! It was beautiful staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I will most definitely be back would highly recommend this place!

The property was very clean, all the time, and most restaurants were walking distance from the room. Bartenders were great. Lacking daily activities outside the pool. Definitely five star resort

The beach is awful. The wave reduction/erosion reduction bags are ugly but more importantly, the result is still (dead) water for at least 40 feet, which would seem to make swimming unhealthy due to bacteria, etc. Very few people were on the beach and rarely did I see someone in the water. Of course then, the pools were very crowded. Forget about getting a lounge chair around the pool.
