"We were only in Rome for 24 hours and we loved our stay at Porta Castello Suites. Checking in was so easy. I even asked them if they could add a few birthday balloons to our room for my friend’s bday and they did it so quick. They also let us check in almost 4 hours early so we could maximize our time there. The room was nice and clean and the property was in such a good location for us to walk around. Overall we loved our stay! I would definitely recommend it and would love to stay there again!...

"It's important for travelers to know that this is not a typical hotel with a front desk, etc. It is 4 rooms off of a hallway on the second floor of a residential building. You must contact the owner (by phone) to arrange for a check in. We did not know this and it caused a lot of confusion/stress (we did not have a working cell phone while in Italy and could not find another means to contact them) but otherwise we had a good stay. "In route they text we had to stay at a different room. No choice as one room had a toilet problem. Apparently it was our room. It was so very small and scary and uncomfortable to stay. It was very rs noisy. I disnt want to stay there. I wanted the hotel i chose but they make it seem like you have no option. What do you do? The bed was aweful. Communication was not easy. The location was not where i wanted to stay. It was not pretty. Im extremely unhappy about this."
