I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and it’s normally very good for the price point, but this time not so good.
Issue 1 - it was totally my mistake that I booked for one and there was two of us, but it’s easily fixed, didn’t need a change of room (all rooms are doubles) just needed to pay for the extra person. The receptionist was particularly grumpy about all this and made an issue that we needed an extra duvet. (And towels but he forgot about those…). I would have understood if he’d needed to find a different room but that wasn’t the case.
Issue 2 - the hotel now has a (somewhat silly in my view) housekeeping system. There are two cards in the room. Do not disturb and Do not clean. If either (or both if you feel like it) of these cards are on the door, then your room doesn’t get cleaned. Fine if a little bit confusing, (surely you can have a combined DND/DN clean card)… but the problem was on the one day we wanted the room cleaned, we duly removed both cards in the morning and left for the day expecting the room to be done on our return. It wasn’t requiring a trip to reception to get clean towels..
