Definitely a 2 star mom & pop local hotel. Arrived very late and front desk was friendly. Not updated building nor decor but felt cozy. Liked the wood features all over. The small TV in room is atleast 10+yrs old, not a smart tv to watch your apps, only a few local channels. The carpet is really on its last season. The bed mattress was not comfy at all, the pillows need replacement.
The waterpark was fun for my lil one but no life guards or hotel adults to supervise. A very young teenager at the top of big slides, watching his phone the entire time, only making sure only one person at a time goes down. Not checking for height restrictions but at least a body was up there at the beginning of the slides. One parent walked up the stairs while the other waited at the bottom of slide to make sure our kid got out quickly. Other parents looked more local and let their kids run freely.
The staff was not attentive nor acknowledge us at the morning "breakfast" which was not even a continental. Only waffles and boiled eggs. Juice, yogurt, coffee, lil packets of oatmeal. Big disappointment. Gas Station near by.
Close to Cave on the Mounds.
Quiet the one time adventure, glad we braved the stay to show our kids how blessed we are and to be thankful for our fluffy beds. Sadly we will drive down further next time to stay at a more popular chain hotel. We had high hopes for this "Golf Resort". It is better than camping outside in a tent but we don't do that either ;)
