I stayed at Hotel Van Zandt from 9/18 to 9/20, and unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of frustrating. On the morning of 9/19, I woke up to find there was no hot water in my room, which meant I couldn’t take a shower. I called the front desk, and they sent an engineer up to check the situation, but the issue wasn’t resolved. Afterward, I went down to the front desk and asked for accommodations and was offered a free stay at the hotel on a future date.
I accepted the offer and was told to book the room online through Expedia, where they would "note" my account. I followed the instructions and booked a stay for 11/8, then went back to the front desk, where I was reassured, everything was good to go.
Unfortunately, the problems didn’t end there. After completing my two-night stay in November, I checked out and asked for a receipt. I was told it would be emailed to me, and the front desk clerk confirmed that I would only be charged for valet parking. Two days later, I checked my account, only to find I was charged the full amount for the stay.
I contacted the hotel and spoke with Pauline/Victoria from management for three days, and after much back-and-forth, they agreed to refund one night. This was unsatisfactory, and I expressed my frustration with the situation.
The lack of accountability, poor communication, and unsatisfactory resolution of my issue has left me completely disappointed. I would expect much better service from a hotel at this price point.
