The location is quite good and the staff is, in general, polite, responsive and as helpful as they can be within the limits of their authority. HOWEVER, it is a hotel and the bed in my room [I stayed in 4 different rooms over the course of two separate visits - 1004, 524, 746 and 1242] was deplorable. That is, it was WAY too soft and without sufficient support. So much so that I actually slept on the floor the two nights of my second stay. And with THAT in mind, and being told by reception that the beds in all rooms are the same, I don't see how the Grand Millenium is worthy of a four star plus rating. My hotel in Wellington [in between the two stays in Auckland] had a much more comfortable bed and that hotel is no where near as highly rated.
