Superb. Obviously the best place to stay in Armidale and probably the entire region. It's located right in the centre of town on the very quiet pedestrian shopping mall.
The building itself is restored art deco - but we're talking at a level rarely seen. It was restored in 2019 (I think) and is so impeccably done that it's breathtaking. Everything - and I mean everything - is true to the art deco aesthetic and I spent a ridiculous amount of time wondering how the owners could have sourced the modern versions of light fittings etc.
We stayed in the Chancellor's Suite for three nights and, take my advice, book this if you can. It's basically a mini apartment complete with a faux log fire and huge bathroom with an equally huge tub. It is definitely the case that the more you are willing to pay, the bigger and better the room. (The cheapest option may disappoint). Other rooms are simply very nice, tastefully decorated hotel rooms.
Breakfast is included - really, really good with plenty of cooked options, alternative milks etc.
The staff was terrific. Super helpful and welcoming at reception and lovely in the restaurant for breakfast.
Congratulations to the owners and managers of this place. Faultless. (But would have loved to see a destination charger for electric cars in the carpark!)
