This place has a distinct "hostel" vibe, and a primarily 20-something clientele. As a middle-aged person I felt a bit out of place. However, it's clean, the staff are professional and friendly, and the facilities are cute. Great breakfast and bar, too! Be aware that some of the pods (odd numbers) are accessed via a small ladder, like a bunk bed. I am a spry 50-year-old, but I have to admit it was a bit tricky to get in and out. There is also only a curtain to provide privacy. I was concerned about safety (I move a lot when I sleep) so if that's you as well, I suggest requesting a bottom pod. (I actually asked to be moved, and they put me in a private room
for the second night, for no charge.) The place is a goo 10-minute walk to the ferry (a free 2-minute ride to the train station/central Amsterdam.) It's a bit annoying with a suitcase, but ok. It's also a 10-minute walk to bus and tram stations, which get you to central Amsterdam without going on the ferry. Overall: a great option for a very cheap place to stay: great value if you are looking to spend as little money as possible yet get a clean and modern hotel.
