"We stayed in crown plaza in Fuzhou and it was a great experience. So we gave Tianjin crown plaza a try. That experience turned out to a huge difference in a negative way. First night checked in to a room with broken fridge and floor covered in human hair. So we had to move to another room the next morning. But the second room wasn’t any better at all. I don’t enjoy Being misdirected, especially when the temperature is 35°C. I finally Found a Marriott hotel and the courteous staff directed me in the right direction. "Unfortunately for foreigners, it’s a little out of the way from the city highlights . Word of warning make sure the cab drivers reset the meters on pick up , my cabbie was a scammer. That was the only disappointment of the whole trip . "

"We had the most amazing stay. Originally built as a polo club, the owner has recently changed the estate to a grand hotel. I can understand why... the area is quite remote but no expense has been spared in providing 5 star accommodation. Booking two rooms, we were upgraded to the Chaiman's Lounge and the room was magnificent. Huge bathroom, a toilet with auto lid, lighting, flushing, drying etc etc!!! The owner is building on site, Tianjin's tallest skyscraper... to compare, the Empire...

"My wife organised this Hotel and frankly, I wish she hadn't. She based her booking on price and appearances (photos). Wrong. First and foremost, it's miles from anywhere of significance, certainly if you are a tourist as opposed to a business person visiting industry in the area. Secondly, the rooms, although large, the general aesthetic being quite spectacular and the many facilities available, tend to lull one into thinking that for the price they have got into something quite special....
