“Great base for Aberystwyth. Was rather cramped for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 teenagers) but was fine. The biggest issue was the bathroom which was really dated. It really quickly streamed up (room4) and the condensation on the mirror ran everywhere. It's not changed since we last stayed which worries me that it's going to start getting really tired soon.”

“We had a lovely 1 night stay. Our family room was excellent. From checking in to checking out, every member of staff was friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely swim in the pool. Lovely food in the brasserie and for breakfast. Would highly recommend - excellent value. ”

“Great property, Erris Villa is truly a home from home. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. It's a short stroll into the town with plenty of pubs, a few places to eat and local shops.Breakfast was fantastic, it really sets you up for a day of walking along the Wye Valley. Absolutely stunning scenery. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.”

“Nice hotel, and the most popular venue in Dolgellau. Ensure you arrange your evening meal before 8pm, as everything stops serving early (out of season), including the hotel. Was extremely disappointing to be left with just a kebab shop at 8:20pm, with absolutely no alternatives. Town has some nice eateries, but everything shuts early and it feels like a ghost town by 9pm. ”

“A beautiful, quiet guesthouse, very nicely furnished and very clean and comfortable. Received a very warm welcome and a breakfast menu for the following morning, on arrival. Made to feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was 5* and was enjoyed in a quiet and comfortable dining room with mountain views, an excellent start to the day. Will be sure to visit again and will be recommending to others in future. Thank you very much.”

“Fantastic stay at Ardwyn. Roger was a lovely host, welcomed us with tea and cake, which was much appreciated after our huge cycle to get there. The bed was like a cloud and the roll top bath was the icing on the cake! We opted for the cooked breakfast in the morning which was generous and delicious too, we will definitely be back. ”

“Great location just metres from the village centre with the added bonus of parking at rear. Excellent host - very informative about local attractions and amenities and even booked a table for us at a local pub for our evening meal.”

“The hotel was lovely; the rooms were very well appointed and comfortable. It was very quiet and relaxing. The common rooms were very nice and welcoming. The staff was professional, gracious and friendly. We spent a lovely cocktail hour in the lounge and enjoyed delicious custom cocktails. Dinner and breakfast were first rate! Local foods, creatively prepared. We went for an afternoon hike along the canal, which was easy to access from the property. Highly recommend this property.”

“Great stay , arrived wet through on dirt bikes , couldn’t have wished for a warmer welcome, kit was dryer off and left in the utility room and a welcome cup of tea and coffee was provided, Lovely hosts , clean room and cracking breakfast , just what was needed in the typical wet wales weather Would love to come back one day with my family, ”

“Really nice apartment right in the middle of town. Very comfortable beds and lovely cosy lounge. The kitchen area is also very tidy with all you need to cook for your family. Would definitely stay here again. Only slight downside is the noise from the flats above and below, but this was daytime only noise. We slept very well. Overall very enjoyable stay. ”

“Good acomodation booked in with the new property owner Kurt, we were the second transaction made on his hotel account, chap by the bar beat us to no 1 position by a matter of minutes, Kurt had recently bought the Castle Hotel friday the 1st of September was his first day so basically hit the road running! He explained theres going to be big changes / improvements over the coming months so watch the space, as a New Zealander the bar area is going to be a sport bar area with some great rugby……

“A very convenient base for the Machynlleth music festival. The house was very clean, all machinery worked fine and my only request would be that the house comes supplied with a few dishwasher tablets, a bit of soap powder, and a washing up brush or cloth.”
