"The location is amazing—literally walking distance from Beppu Station, which makes it easy to find once you get off the train. The amenities are great, the room is spacious, and the staff are very helpful. The only downside is the bed; it was hard and a bit uncomfortable, especially if you're staying for more than one night. Still, I would stay here again because I love the hotel's location."

"I love the traditional tatami rooms here. The ‘Bekkan’ is an annex and based in an older building that is charmingly done. It has its own baths, but you have access to the bigger and outdoor baths at the main building a block away. We hadn’t ticked the dinner box when reserving. "We stayed overnight after a long drive from Fukuoka and it was quite an experience. It felt like we went camping. The service was also great with the free microwaveable light meal and drinks. The room was well maintained but since it’s a container, you can feel the shake when someone is walking. The parking is free and very convenient too. All in all it was a good stay and experience. "

"My only complaint is the road to get to the container villa is so obviously made for a one way but the kurokawa onsen village decided that traffic can struggle to figure out who has the right of way and reverse in the middle of the road… very dangerous but any who.. They offer 3 different private baths that you can easily self-reserve via a timeslot board. Bathrooms & refrigerator are shared. Complimentary coffee. The girl who checked me in was perfectly fluent in english (& japanese)."
