On the third floor of a hundred years old brownstone, la Maison des Sirenes is perfect for anybody appreciating style and comfort. Affordable but not 'cheap', La Maison des Sirenes is well dressed!!! The apartment was decorated with taste and I meticulously picked every single of furnitures myself. This is the first apartment I ever rented as a vacation rental(August 2007).
It is located on one of the most coveted block of Bedstuy(tree lined). It features a master bedroom,an antique clawfoot bathroom, fully equipped Tuscan style kitchen,dining room,living room and an amazing bamboo lined deck with table,umbrella and seats .Perfect for barbecue in summer,sun bathing brunches on weekends or simply relaxing.
Most importantly the apartment is a few stations away from Manhattan. Keep in mind this is not a newly renovated apartment. It is very cosy and shows signs of age. It is a home and people Love it!
NYC OCCUPANCY TAXES ARE NOT INCLUDED AND ARE DUE UPON ARRIVAL IN CASH. Required by the city on less than 180 days rentals,they are 5.875% +$2/night.

Bedstuy used to be known for its motto 'do or die' . Not anymore!!!! Now it is best known for its incredibly beautiful Brownstone. It was fearures recentlt in the Time Out magazine as ' one of the best neighbourhood ' of NYC.The strong community and abundant beautiful brownstone townhouses contribute to its growth and charm. New cafes,restaurants,bakeries ,boutique ,galleries nd wine bars are sprouting everywhere receiving much attention by Zagat, time out,NY magazines and blogs. A diverse mix of students,hipsters,artists,crative professionals,architects and attorneys of all races continue to move to the neighbourhood.
The area is serviced well by the A abd C train with commute times 15 mn to lowervManhattan and 30 mn to midtown.(times square).
Bedstuy was home to famous artists such as Notorious BIG,Lil Kim,Mos Def,Chris rock,,poet June Jordan and activist Hattie Carthan. Bedstuy streets are often represented in media : Spike lee movies, MIA music video.....
There is a strong sense of pride being part of Bedstuy and being its pioneers.

Très bonne adresse pour passer un séjour à New York
La maison des sirènes est bien située, à 7 mn à pieds du métro C local. Pour l'aéroport JFK, il faut compter 1h15 métro + airtrain environ avec un changement entre ligne A et C pour desserte de l'arrêt Kingston throop. Pour Manhattan, environ 30 mn selon où on veut aller.
Ce petit éloignement de l'hyper centre permet des tarifs plus avantageux et de gagner en calme, par contre il ne faut pas prévoir de repasser à l'appartement dans la journée quand on part en visite
L'appartement est confortable pour une famille avec le nécessaire pour cuisiner sur place et des commerces à proximité permettent de faire quelques courses. Le budget restaurant devenant vite élevé à NY, ça permet de réduire un peu.
Nathalie est disponible, heureusement car les premiers jours nous ne sommes pas arrivés à ouvrir la porte du bas à cause d'un verrou bloqué et nous avons pu la joindre facilement (nous avions pris avant de partir une carte sim USA)
Le dernier jour, il est possible de laisser ses bagages dans le hall avant de repartir, c'est très appréciable.
Je recommande vivement cet emplacement, en plus nathalie parle français ce qui peut aider !

Idealer Standort für einen Besuch in NY
Sehr schönes, stimmungsvolles Apartment für 2-4 Personen, für NY Verhältnisse sehr ruhige Lage, ideal um sich nach einem Erlebnisreichen Tag in Manhattan zu erholen. Dies war bereits unser zweiter und sicher nicht der letzte Aufenthalt. Sehr empfehlenswert!!

Appartement et quartier agréables
L'appartement correspond à la description et est relativement agréable à utiliser. Ce n'est pas le top confort mais globalement tout y est : bonne literie, de quoi cuisiner simplement, la clim, de quoi repasser... Le quartier est sympa, les stations de métro sont proches et desservent Manhattan en 20 à 30 min selon la destination. Il est possible de faire ses courses (fruits, légumes et spécialités locales !!!) à quelques minutes à pieds et de laver ses vêtements aux laveries proches. En 2 mots, bonne location dans un quartier qui gagne à être visité. Les habitants sont accueillants !

appartement typique sur Brooklyn idéalement placé
Petit appartement typique et calme sur Brooklyn avec une super terrasse où nous avons passé de super moments en famille. L’appartement est idéalement placé près d’une station de métro à 30 minutes de Manathan. Nathalie la propriétaire est avenante. Les infos qu’elle nous a données pour notre arrivée, nous a évité de nous perdre. Merci Nathalie et en plus on peut laisser nos bagages pour profiter de notre dernière journée. Je recommande !!

Excellent séjour
L’appartement est propre, chaleureux, confortable, on s’y sent très bien . Nous avons même pu profiter un peu de la terrasse, Le quartier est calme, avec des supérettes et déli à proximité , très bien desservi par lignes de métro et bus

Idéalement placé pour une famille!
A cinq minutes à pied du métro A-C qui mene à Manhattan en 15/20 min et en 40 min à JFK, cet appartement est très propre. Nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison car nous pouvions dejeuner et dîner sur place. Le calme du quartier était très agréable après le tumulte de la journée. Une petite supérette permet de faire ses courses à proximité.
C est une vieille maison pleine de charme, qui semble sonore mais qui finalement ne gène absolument pas le sommeil.
L arrivée se fait de manière autonome ce qui est très pratique à notre goût. Malgré tout Nathalie reste très attentive à notre bien être par messagerie. Nous nous sommes rencontrés également et elle a été très arrangeante pour nos valises.
Enfin, et ce n est pas le moindre, le prix nous a permis de séjourner 11 jours sur New York ce qui aurait été impossible dans un hôtel à Manhattan à 4.
Nous sommes ravis de séjour.
